Our why

The Canadian Medstore started with a brother. 

In 2003, Bill Hepscher's brother was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at 27 years old. He underwent a bone marrow transplant, and the anti-rejection medication he needed cost thousands of dollars in the U.S. Bill and his family discovered that the same medication from a licensed Canadian pharmacy cost only a few hundred dollars.  

That’s when everything changed, and that moment became a mission and the start of The Canadian Medstore: to give everyday, hardworking Americans access to safe and affordable medications. 

More than 20 years later, the mission hasn't changed. We're not a pharmacy, but a U.S. company that works with a network of licensed U.S. and international pharmacies. This allows us to find our clients the best possible price on their prescriptions, and to have them delivered safely and directly to their door.

How we've grown

We opened our first office in Zephyrhills, Florida, in 2003, and all our clients were local. Today, we serve thousands of clients nationwide by phone and email, with six storefront locations in Florida.

Our company has grown through referrals from happy clients and a strong network of hundreds of doctors, nurses, and health insurance and Medicare consultants all across the U.S.

What started as a small-town business has grown into a nationwide service. What hasn't changed is the way we treat each client with concierge service and an individual conversation.

About Bill

Bill founded The Canadian Medstore in 2003 after a personal experience with the impossible cost of his brother's cancer medication. More than 20 years later, his mission hasn't changed: making safe, affordable medications accessible to everyone who needs them.

For Bill, the most rewarding part of leading the company is hearing from clients about what the savings have meant in their lives, from buying a grandchild a birthday or Christmas present, taking a trip, going out to dinner, and in some cases, affording a rent payment, a car payment, or groceries.

Fun fact: Bill loves food, sometimes too much. February, when the Girl Scout cookies go on sale, is his favorite time of year. He once ate six boxes of Thin Mints in a single day. 😳

About Dan

Dan's mission is simple: put each client's health first. He knows that without The Canadian Medstore, many clients wouldn't be able to afford their life-saving medications, and that drives him every day. He sees the work as advocacy, helping clients find answers to the complicated problem of high medication costs and building lasting relationships with them and their families.

Fun facts: Before joining The Canadian Medstore, Dan graduated from Respiratory Therapy School. His wife was the very first employee of The Canadian Medstore, 22 years ago.
